Our greatest desire is that we glorify God in all we do and help lead people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
We sing contemporary praise songs as well as traditional hymns.
Our services are grounded in God’s Word and are Christ-centered and driven by the Holy Spirit.
At our church, it’s not really our church—it’s His, and we live and move and breathe in His church for His glory, not ours.
We are a community church affiliated with the American Baptist Churches USA/VNH. American Baptists are Christ-centered, biblically grounded people called to personal discipleship in Christ Jesus.
Our commitment to Jesus inspires us to live out our faith every day in the places God has put us.
What We Believe
We are a Bible-believing church, and our beliefs are grounded in Scripture. This is what we believe about:
God: We believe in one God who exists in 3 distinct persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit. We believe in the words in 1 Timothy 6:15 & 16 “…God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever…”
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in me shall not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
Jesus Christ: Jesus is the Son of God. He was fully God and fully human. He lived a sinless life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins.
“For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Sin: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
Salvation: Acts 4:12 “And there is salvation in no one else for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” “…by grace you have been saved…” Ephesians 2:5
“…I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, no one comes to the Father, except through me.” John 14:6
Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He lives and works in our hearts and minds. Jesus promised his disciples that He would send His Spirit (John 14:16-26). He came at Pentecost in a powerful way (Acts 2)
He is our Seal of Salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14); He convicts us of sin and the need for righteousness in our lives (John 16:8); He guides us into truth (John 16:13); He gives us wisdom (John 17:7); He helps us to pray (Romans 8:26) He glorifies Christ (John 16:14)
The Bible: “All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness so that the people of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3: 16 “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105
The Church: “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it (1 Corinthians 12:27). “And he is the head of the body, the church…” (Colossians 1:18). We all have a responsibility to use the gifts God has given us to edify the church and glorify God.
Marriage: We submit to the teaching of Scripture that God’s design for sexual intimacy places it within the context of marriage between one biological man and one biological woman (Genesis 2:24) as designated at the time of birth and acknowledge that the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Biblical teaching (Romans 1:26 & 27 and 1 Corinthians 6:9)
Baptism and the Lord’s Supper: We celebrate 2 ordinances (rituals ordained or commanded by Christ.)
- Baptism: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)
- Lord’s Supper: “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you; the Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed took bread and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lords death until he comes.” (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
Members and friends who attend our church come from a variety of denominations.
